📈 P&L Statement Loans
A CPA-prepared P&L can be your income doc.
For some business owners, even bank statements muddy the picture — multiple accounts, transfers between entities, seasonal swings. A P&L program qualifies you on a profit-and-loss statement prepared by your CPA or enrolled agent, on some programs standing entirely alone.
Is this you?
P&L Statement Loans tend to be a great fit for…
- Owners with multiple entities and inter-company transfers
- Businesses whose deposits scatter across many accounts
- Established owners with a strong CPA relationship
- Borrowers who want the simplest possible document stack

P&L Statement Loans: straight answers
Who has to prepare the P&L?
A licensed CPA or enrolled agent (some programs also accept licensed tax preparers). A self-prepared P&L doesn’t qualify — the third-party preparation is the whole point.
Will anything else be verified?
Expect the preparer to confirm they filed or prepared your business returns, and some programs cross-check the P&L against two or three months of bank statements for reasonableness. Joe will tell you exactly what your chosen program pulls.
What period should the P&L cover?
Usually the most recent 12 months, or year-to-date plus the prior year. Your CPA and Joe will align the window to the program before anything is drafted.
Is this riskier or more expensive?
Pricing is generally in line with other alt-doc programs — modestly above conventional. Where it wins is friction: one document from your CPA versus months of statements to assemble and explain.
